Staff and volunteers at Big Bend Cares provide a wide range of HIV prevention education, and HIV/AIDS awareness services. Some of the programs that are available include:
FREE HIV Confidential Testing
Big Bend Cares is a registered testing site with the Florida Department of Health. Confidential tests that include pre- and post-test counseling are conducted by qualified staff. Big Bend Cares offers the Orasure test (results in two weeks) and the Clearview Fingerstick HIV test (results in 30 minutes). HIV testing is free. Please call us at 850-354-8765 to schedule a testing appointment.
Big Bend Cares now offers the next generation Clearview Fingerstick HIV test. This test has increased accuracy, and can detect the HIV virus sooner than the Orasure or Oraquick test. This test needs to be scheduled in advance and is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern time. These tests are conducted by Big Bend Cares staff at Care Point Health & Wellness, located at 2200 S Monroe St.
If your organization or community group wants testing, it can be scheduled. Please call for additional information regarding testing.
