In 2025, HIV is no longer a death sentence, but that wasn’t the case when Big Bend Cares began this work 40 years ago in 1985. Thanks to medical advances and comprehensive care, people living with HIV can live long, healthy lives. Yet here in our community, HIV/AIDS remains a significant public health challenge, and one that demands both awareness and action.
At Big Bend Cares, we have been the lead AIDS Service Organization in our region for nearly four decades. This year, we are proud to celebrate our 40th anniversary of service; 40 years of compassion, equity, and impact.
