Due to the recent concern with the spread of SARS-coV2 (coronavirus), Big Bend Cares is continuing to monitor the situation and environment in our community. The safety of our clients and staff is our highest priority, and we want to ensure everyone has the appropriate and accurate resources.
At this time, our office remains open and fully operational, providing our same level of care to all clients. If you are feeling ill or showing symptoms of CoronaVirus (fever, respiratory distress, cough, body aches), please cancel your appointment and contact the Leon County Health Department at 850-404-6300. It is also advised that you self-quarantine until otherwise instructed by a healthcare professional.
We will continue to provide updates regarding information and testing opportunities from the CDC and our local providers. The Florida Department of Health is continuing to provide updates regarding cases in Florida, as well as important resources. Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare recently announced their plans for testing and continuing to keep our community safe, visit tmh.org/coronavirus for more information. Please note we are not able to provide tests for CoronaVirus due to the tests not being available to Big Bend Cares.
The City of Tallahassee also announced they will not shut-off anyone’s utilities for the next 60 days and will continue to monitor the situation, making updates as necessary.
Here are just a few ways you can continue to protect yourself and others from the CoronaVirus:
- Please continue to regularly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds each time
- When you visit Care Point, please utilize our hand sanitizer stations
- If you are sick, do not go out in public-avoid contact with others
- Continue to monitor the CDC and Florida Department of Health for the most up-to-date information and resources
We want to assure you that we are taking all of the necessary precautions and following recommended protocol to ensure our facility is safe and clean for our clients and colleagues. Please call us with any questions or changes to appointments, 850-656-2437.
